I have been attempting to write a blog post all about Sid Eudy ever since the news of his passing was broken on Monday.
There is so much I would like to write about him and don't want to put out any old wish-wash and rush it.
So, I am going to continue plugging away at it for the next few days and hopefully have it up very soon.
In the meantime, I thought I'd share with you some of the tweets from his peers. I thought they were quite interesting.
It's no secret - Ric Flair and Sid did not get along.
Sting and Sid Vicious had some battles during Sid's tenures in JCP/WCW. It was cool to see Sting leave a tribute to one of his in-ring rivals.
Over in the WWF, Shawn Michaels and Sid had a on-off relationship on-screen. Sid returned to the WWF in 1995 acting as Shawn Michaels' bodyguard. They then began a feud shortly after that.
Michaels brought Sid back, in storyline, in the summer of 1996 when WWE was scrambling for a replacement for The Ultimate Warrior.
To cut a long story short, Michaels and Sid ended up back in feuds and traded the WWF Championship back-and-forth with Sid beating HBK at the Survivor Series in November 1996 and then Sid lost it back to Michaels in the challenger's hometown of San Antonio at the 1997 Royal Rumble.
One of WWE's head guys, Triple H. I cannot recall them ever wrestling against each other but they would have been colleagues from 1995 to 1997.
WWE also produced a tribute video to Sid. I loved one of the lines in it. It's what I'll close this post out with:
'..a larger than life superstar who stood out during an era of larger than life characters'
