The Renaissance

I didn't get to watch the Academy Awards Ceremony live on Sunday night. However, I did read all about it yesterday morning.

The biggest story, as far as I'm concerned, was seeing Ke Huy Quan win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Not only that, though.

The actor, who was a big part of my childhood because of his roles in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Goonies, made another appearance on the stage when Everything Everywhere All At Once won Best Picture.

And guess who announced the winner.

Indiana Jones himself - Harrison Ford.

Cue the first time both actors were together on-stage for the first time since 1984.

Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan at the 2023 Academy Awards

I had seen a picture of the Ford and his Temple of Doom co-star from a recent convention (I think it was a convention!), but a reunion with Harrison Ford - on the stage at the big one - seemed like it was a full circle moment for the star who was out of the acting game for many years.

What a story. A great Hollywood renaissance-comeback tale has been told.
