12 Pays Of Christmas

It looks like the National Lottery's annual Advent-themed scratchcard have had a slight change for 2022.

Over the years, I've noticed that the lottery operator's website starts to have Christmas scratchcards listed from September. This morning was the first time I visited the website on the hunt for the festive cards for 2022.

I came across a card titled '12 Pays of Christmas'. Initially, I thought it was a card with twelve games on it. However, upon inspection, it appears as though these cards are in place of the 'Christmas Advent Calendar' because the rules are exactly the same (24 windows and you have to match two symbols in each game to win a prize).

The title plays on the '12 Days of Christmas' because the jackpot will see four winners claim £100,000 a month for a year. Therefore, the overall payout is £1,200,000 for any of the four lucky winners.

In 2020 and 2021, the 'Christmas Advent Calendar' versions had top prizes of £1 Million. They were significant jumps from the top prizes of £250,000 for those which came before them.

Even though I would have preferred them to still be 'Advent' themed (the new ones have the windows listed in 1-24 order unlike the advent calendar scratchies), I'll hunt down a card in time for December.
