Today is the thirtieth anniversary of WWF SummerSlam 1992 and, to honour the day, I had pre-ordered the SummerSlam 1992 Blu-ray that was released this morning to commemorate the Wembley Stadium event.
I placed the order on May 28th and thought all I had to do was wait until today before it arrived at my home.
When I woke up this morning, I checked my dad's Amazon account to see if it was out for delivery (he told me to buy it on his account so I could have it as a birthday gift) and I was met by an 'Arriving Saturday' alert.
No. No. Noooooooo!
I checked the product page. It listed that the Blu-rays were in stock. It also had a notice which stated that I could get it tomorrow if I ordered within seventeen hours.
What a waste of time. I ended up cancelling the May 28th order and then reordered.
I could have simply waited three months and ordered it yesterday so it reached me today. Amazon threw a spanner in the works to my plan.
So, the bad news is that I won't get to watch SummerSlam 1992 on the anniversary of the event taking place live from Wembley Stadium.
There is a Plan B, though.
The back up idea, however, is to now watch it on Wednesday because August 31st will be the 30th anniversary of when the show first aired on television over here on Sky Sports and on Pay-Per-View in the USA.
