At the time of writing, I was under the impression that Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue were going to be in the closing scene of the soap which has been on air for thirty-seven years and will end over the summer. I stated that the correct call should be to have Karl or Susan Kennedy finish things off.
It turns out that the Jason and Kylie, or rather 'Scott and Charlene' rumour was just that. A rumour. The most recent reports point to Jackie Woodburne - who portrays Susan Kennedy - being the person who'll say the last words on August 1st.
Susan Kennedy, and her husband - Karl, joined the programme when it was in its ninth year. However, they have been mainstays in all that time. In my opinion, it was only fair for either one of them to take it home.
Stefan Dennis, who was in the series on day one as Paul Robinson, spent a few years away from the soap. He would have been my third choice behind either of the Kennedys.
