The Madness Ends. For Now?

Football's crazy twenty four plus hours I wrote about in yesterday's post has continued well into this week.

Most of the British clubs that were in talks to break away from the Premier League and become part of a European Super League with other teams on the continent have officially pulled out.

The change of mind was brought on by the hugely negative reaction to those teams' owners decision to literally bring football - as we know it - to its knees.

I am glad that the plan has been scrapped. However, even though I dislike the idea immensely, part of me is - or rather was - intrigued to see how the concept would have worked.

Maybe it had more to do with the schadenfreude aspect of such a scheme considering how so many people were against it.
