I was unhappy to see the news coming out of the New York Giants' facility yesterday when it was announced that Eli Manning will be benched for this weekend's game against the Oakland Raiders.

In Manning's place will be Geno Smith.

Manning has had 210 regular season starts since 2004. Only Bret Favre, on 297, is above him.

The Giants are currently 2-9 in what is guaranteed to be a losing season. I figure this is a Hail Mary play by the Giants' head coach, Ben McAdoo as his job is on the line. It's too late for that, in my opinion.

Way to treat a two-time Super Bowl winner.
