The Premier League and Cadbury announced yesterday that the latter will sponsor the football division starting with the 2017/18 season.
I initially thought that the partnership was an odd one because there's been a drive to stop obesity in children and thought that chocolate and football is a bad combo. However, I thought about it a little longer and realised it's a better advertiser to children than the previous sponsor - Carling.
The current sponsor - Barclays - announced a couple of years ago that it would not renew its current deal that ends at the close of this season.
Cadbury's contract is for three years.
