An Interesting Week Ahead

The following post was written on Saturday night with the plan that it would be published on Monday morning. Reports that Peyton Manning will announce his retirement on Monday then started to filter in. I'll let this one go up even though most of it is obsolete now. Expect more Manning posts this week..

This is going to be a very interesting week.

The new NFL league year begins on Wednesday and Peyton Manning still hasn't announced whether he's going to retire.

One of three things will happen today or tomorrow.

1) Manning will retire

2) Manning will decide not to retire and be guaranteed $19 Million from Denver for the 2016 season

3) Manning will decide not to retire and will be cut by the Denver Broncos and we'll see him go into free agency

You can discount option 2 for a start. I think that's a safe bet.

As for 1 - I am sort of okay with that. I think him leaving the sport after winning the big one for a second time is a great way to go out. Some legends never had that opportunity.

With that said, I'd like to see what would happen if selection 3 comes into play. 

I have read reports of him possibly going to the Los Angeles Rams. That, to me, is an interesting prospect as the Rams are returning to that market for the first time in over twenty years. Manning sells tickets.
