Sheamus Is The Champ

Sheamus is the new WWE World Champion.

I sort of had an inkling he would wind up cashing in his Money in the Bank title shot at the close of Survivor Series.

What gave it away for me was the fact he was absent from WWE television in the week leading up to the pay-per-view. I thought it was a reverse psychology trick to keep him out our minds until his 'unexpected' appearance to claim his title shot.

With that stated, Sheamus did show back up before his cash in. He was involved in a Survivor Series tag match on the main card.

As soon as I saw him, I discounted the idea that he would cash in so I was mildly surprised when he came out following Roman Reigns' victory celebration to challenge for the title.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here. I placed a bet that Sheamus would be in the world title match at WrestleMania (I was predicting a Money in the Bank cash in during WrestleMania, you see). The bet might end up being a losing one now, though. I doubt Sheamus will go all the way to Mania with the strap.

It'll be a case of me being glad I'm wrong if he does manage to hold on until April.
