Finally...

Tonight is the WWE Royal Rumble so what should be here in today's post is the Bold Predictions series that I introduced at the beginning of last year.

I've decided to hang it up because I have other ideas for this blog and don't want to start something that I'll never be able to finish. Instead, I'm going to look at what I believe will happen tonight.

The Rock will win the WWE championship.

There is no doubt about it, in my mind. It makes perfect sense.

At the end of Friday's blog post, I finished with something along the lines of 'the babyface always wins in the end'. It's an old concept in pro wrestling. Another ideology is that a babyface is always honest.

If you recall, back on the episode of Raw following WrestleMania XXVIII - The Rock announced that he was going to become world champion again. He followed this up a number of months later when he announced that was going to challenge whoever the WWE champion was at the Royal Rumble.

I've been impressed with the promotion for the pay-per-view. I've seen a lot of online advertising on the Internet with The Rock doing the People's Eyebrow with the words 'Finally..' next to it.

The obvious choice for Royal Rumble winner is John Cena. It's definitely going to be Cena vs The Rock for the WWE championship at WrestleMania XXIX. Therefore, as the Rumble winner gets the title shot at Mania, Cena being victorious tonight makes sense. We all know that sense sometimes gets thrown out the window so I'll go out on a limb and say that John Cena WILL NOT win tonight.

And there I was thinking hedging my bets was what I'll be doing next Sunday.

The road to WrestleMania begins tonight. It should be a good ride.
