The Contract Signing = Money

I enjoyed the ending segment on WWE Raw last night.

Scratch that.

I should have started with this: I enjoyed the ending segment on WWE Monday Night Raw Starring Brock Lesnar last night.

What I am writing about, for those who didn't see it, is the contract signing between Lesnar and John Cena for their bout which takes place this Sunday at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

Lesnar came out first. Cena initially no-showed. Lesnar then made some extra demands from John Laurinaitis . This is what made the portion of the show great. For those who know of Lesnar - it seemed genuine. Why? Because his demands were more or less blurring the lines between reality and fiction.

Fiction: Lesnar wanted access to Vince McMahon's lear jet whenever he wanted it.
Reality: Lesnar, tired with travelling during his initial stint in WWE, bought his own private plane.

Fiction: Lesnar told Laurinaitis that he will show up to Raw when he felt like it.
Reality: When negotiating his return in early April, Lesnar demanded a contract with limited dates. The storyline demand will now make his sporadic appearances seem legitimate.

There was also the request that the TV show be renamed to WWE Monday Night Raw Starring Brock Lesnar which was more storyline than anything.

The crowd got to the point where they were booing the heel. So, I guess the job was done. However, when John Cena did show up to sign his part of the contract, the 'Let's go Cena, Cena sucks!' chants became more vocal.

If they continue at the rate they're going, I can see Lesnar being a hated heel for the remainder of his one-year deal.

Let's hope they don't pull the trigger and have Cena beat him this Sunday.

It makes no sense. I have a fear in the back of my mind that they'll do it.
