Boxing and UFC have aired similar features on TV in the hope to add more buys to their main fights and has worked wonders for their pay-per-view business. It's a new approach for WWE but I think they've chosen the right bout to give it a go considering a mainstream star is returning to pro wrestling and going up against the current top guy in the business.
On paper, it should be the most attention grabbing bout that WWE can pull from under its sleeve. I can't fault WWE for producing this documentary to garner even more interest in the bout.
The one hour feature included interviews with the two wrestlers in question along with a host of current and former WWE wrestlers as well as celebrities. It also contained footage from both John Cena and The Rock's family archives as well as recent video of them doing media work for their respective professions. An adequate job was made of comparing - and contrasting - the pair as they prepare for the showdown in Miami.

The special featured a lot of stuff I've already seen before on WWE DVDs or on television. With that said - there was a portion of new material in it that made it seem fresh to my eyes.
To be honest, this show wasn't made for me. I was going to watch WrestleMania regardless of who or what was in the main event. It's the fair-weather fans and people channel hopping that are the targets because they are the ones WWE want to entice into parting with their cash on Sunday night.
I've read that this feature is going to debut on US TV an hour before Monday Night Raw (two hours after this post is published) and will have airings on other stations throughout the week. It's evidently something the company feels will help increase interest in the event.
