I sat at home watching the build-up to the game and feel everyone did good in paying tribute to Speed and his family as well as helping out the list of charities that are to benefit from the friendly.
The Speed family - especially his sons - were so brave.

As I was about to write the above, I found out that David Rathband had been found dead in an apparent suicide and thought that I couldn't write the above without mentioning this.
Rathband was the policeman who was shot by the gunman Raoul Moat nearly two years ago. The policeman was blinded by the incident.
In the years since the shooting, he had started his own charity - The Blue Lamp Foundation - which was set up to help emergency service workers who are injured in the line of duty.
It was quite the inspirational story so I was sorry to read what I did this morning.
