A Beverly Hills Cop Double Bill

My nephew and I were at home on Saturday night when I decided we should watch a film. I handed him a box-set of movies and let him decide.

He picked Beverly Hills Cop.

I was unsure whether to allow a ten-year old watch the film but then thought back to when I first watched it and I must have been younger than he was.

Two wrongs make a right, yeah?

It turned into a good choice for both of us.

He loved it and was laughing hard at all the parts I can remember cracking up to when I was a child.

It had been a long time since I saw the film and it was a nice trip down memory lane.

As the credits were rolling at the end, I asked him how he would rate it out of ten. He gave it a one hundred percent pass.

On Monday afternoon, it was my turn to pick a movie - I chose Beverly Hills Cop II.

As is often common with sequels, it was not as good as the first and it only got nine stars from the young critic.

I've told him we can watch the third movie in the trilogy when he is down here again. I remember I hated that film when I first saw it so it will be interesting to see how it is received by a first-time viewer.
