WWE are airing a live Tuesday night edition of SmackDown on August 30th in what I feel is testing the waters for a permanent move.
The current night for the show is on a Friday even though the episode is recorded on a Tuesday so the only change the wrestlers and production crew will deal with is the fact that the show is live rather than taped.
The reason why I believe the show is moving from its current slot is because of the new deal between Fox Television and the Ultimate Fighting Championship which will see live UFC fights on Friday night.
WWE, in their conference calls, are adamant that UFC is not competition. It's evident that they really are and the only way to to not have to deal with poorer ratings is to avoid any head-to-head battles.
It's a smart - yet obvious - move.
