MITB Scenarios

There has been a lot - and I mean a lot - of discussion by fans over how tonight's WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view will finish.

The storyline leading in to the show is that it is CM Punk's final night in the company and - as he is in the world title match against John Cena - it is possible that he could quit the company as champion.

Many are speculating that one of the Money in the Bank winners from earlier in the night will cash in their title opportunity and prevent the newly crowned champion from leaving with the belt.

I have heard some great scenarios. The one I liked up until Friday afternoon was one that the editor of Figure 4 Weekly, Bryan Alvarez, came up with in that the first MITB winner cashes in but fails. This prompts the second winner to come in and take his title shot and win.

As I have already noted, I liked that idea but there was one a caller to Alvarez's podcast came up with in that the two briefcase winners fail and then Vince McMahon drags out the already established number one contender, Alberto Del Rio who will win the title.

I like both ideas. The only drawback is this will mean there won't be any Money in the Bank briefcase winners threatening to cash in for the next twelve months. With that said, it's a sacrifice I'd do if I was in charge of booking tonight's finish.

And just for the hell of it, here are my picks on tonight's MITB matches:

Smackdown Money in the Bank match - Wade Barrett
Raw Money in the Bank match - R-Truth*

*I'm basing this pick on whether they do the angle where Alberto Del Rio comes out after the other two are unsuccessful in their challenges. If that is not what does actually happen, Del Rio is the obvious choice for the Raw match.
