It has been almost a week since the news came out that Mick Foley has parted ways with TNA following creative differences.
I can't say I am shocked that Foley has left.
I knew his deal was set to expire in September of this year and had a feeling based on recent interviews and tweets that he was unhappy.
The one that did it for me was when he had sent out a tweet a number of days ago mocking TNA's house show business by comparing it to his empty arena match with The Rock which took place during half-time of the Super Bowl in 1999.
I have to hand it to Foley - it was a funny joke!
With that said, the company were using him in the main storyline of the show when it was revealed he was one of the 'network' trying to oust Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff from power. The angle lasted only a few weeks and was cut short when it was clear Mick Foley was on his way out.
Apparently, the story was going to turn into yet another swerve - something TNA, and especially Vince Russo - seems to book every angle with Foley being in cahoots with the others all along
I suppose the next step is for the Hardcore Legend to reappear on WWE television.
He is definitely back in their good graces. This was apparent when Foley's fourth autobiography was published late last year and it was plugged on Monday Night Raw despite him being contracted to the rival show.
The Raw general manager story could finally reach its conclusion now. It's perfect to have Foley fit in its denouement.
Here's hoping, anyway.
