I am having a fair share of technological nightmares here while everyone is away on holiday.
Firstly, I sent off my laptop in for repair and have been using a spare on in the house.
The spare one is dreadful because it keeps updating Windows and knocking me offline all the time.
Then, yesterday morning, I turned the hallway light on and sparks blew out of it.
I jumped a mile, covering my head to protect myself.
I went to change it - believing that it had blown - and then it threw out sparks at me again so I decided to leave it.
I then tried the lights in another part of the house and they were out as well.
It seems I've short circuited half of the house. It's a grey day and I would like the light on in this bedroom but this is one of the rooms affected.
It could be worse, I suppose.
