World Cup Post-Mortem

Well, it's hours from being over so I guess it's time to throw out some observations from the past month.

- I read about vuvuzelas going in to the tournament and assumed that they would only be played during the games that South Africa were playing in. Instead, we had to endure this waspy sound through nearly every game. I bloody hate this things. Truth!

- Thank God for mute buttons and iPods.

- I spent four years telling anyone who would listen how I correctly predicted that France and Italy would be the finalists in the 2006 World Cup. I did the same bet this year, albeit guessing the two teams would be Argentina and Brazil. It won't sound as good saying how great I was predicting the 2006 World Cup now that there has been another one since.

- Hey, did I ever tell you I correctly predicted the 2006 World Cup finalists?

- Gary Lineker is so much better than Adrian Chiles. Chiles is the most unfunniest man in Britain.

- Damn, I forgot all about James Corden.

- It was great to see Diego Maradona again. He was one of my favourite players as a child and I would have liked to have seen him lift and kiss that trophy twenty-four years after doing it as a player.

- Brazil WILL win 2014.

- My lucky cap says so.

-Well, it's not that lucky.

- I have to stick to my guns and cheer on Spain tonight. As I have written on here before, I noticed there was a lot of hate towards their chances on a Las Vegas message board I frequent and I felt it was undeserving considering how great the team have been since around the time of the 2008 European Championships.

- Where can I buy a fortune telling octopus? I need one for September.

Evening update - Spain win!
