It's nearly twenty minutes to seven and I am snuggled up in bed after waving off my aunt and cousin.
They came across from Ireland for three days and are flying back this morning.
It was nice having them here. I don't get to see them often, in fact - the last time I saw my cousin was in the spring of 1990.
I've always hated saying goodbye. The best examples I can think of was feigning illness back when I had to leave Germany in 1987 just so I could try and stay a little longer. The trick didn't work.
Nor did it work in 1988 on my second departure from Germany.
I don't even know why I am writing about it here, I guess it's therapeutic in some way to get out how much farewells bother me.
I guess it's time to get back to sleep.
6.57am Update - I've just received a phone call telling me their flight has been cancelled because of the volcanic dust in the air coming over from Iceland! They are on the way back here.
