I was surprised at the announcement that last night's episode of WWE Raw was Lilian Garcia's last.
Don't get me wrong - I knew she was leaving as the news was revealed months ago. I'm just shocked that the WWE would acknowledge her leaving and the way they handled it.
She was given a few minutes before the main event to thank the company and its fans for allowing her to be the ring announcer for the past ten years.
I was surprised the often petty WWE chiefs allowed her to walk away with dignity.
Years ago, we witnessed Lita humiliated on her way out of the company and I was predicting Lilian would get similar treatment. Don't forget - it wasn't too long ago that Triple H, an heir to the WWE throne, took a pot shot at Lilan during a live broadcast by calling her 'horse face'.
The horse comment wasn't a heel attempting to get heat. Hunter was a babyface and was just showing how insecure he is by belittling someone else.
The company did right this time.
