It's not just this blog that is going through a name change this Summer. Antepost magazine is set to become Betting Monthly from September's issue.
I took out a year subscription last October and was not impressed with the magazine.
The problem I find with it is that it seems like a handbook full of adverts for bookmakers. Sure, there are articles and tips in the monthly booklet - the majority seem to be written by bookmakers or people associated with betting companies. What kind of edge is the reader really getting?
Speaking of edges - I think another reason why I didn't take to Antepost was because I enjoyed the way Inside Edge was produced. The articles in IE seemed independent whereas in Antepost they seem to have a hidden agenda.
I must admit, I did enjoy this final issue under the current title. The positive coming with this change is there are more pages and it is in A4 size. The magazine used to be A5 which was often difficult to read despite how compact it looked.
The final month of my subscription conveniently lands on the re-branded issue so I will get an opportunity to sample the new style before I decide to renew or not.
I'm not holding out hope that I do resubscribe as a name change is one thing, a change in content is another.
