All In A Name - The Lesson

I thought I would look back at how the horses I picked out for the remaining two days of the Cheltenham Festival fared.

I had two victories (even though I never made the bets).

I had a winner in the 1:05 in Alberta's Run at 4/1 and another in the 5:20 when Cousin Vinny won at a price of 12/1.

If I had put one pound on each horse I selected I would have only walked away with three pounds profit. But, then again and considering my past luck at horse racing, these wouldn't have won had I picked them!

The lesson to be learnt from betting on horses just because of a name is simple - for every instance when you hear of a person winning by backing horses because of a name, there are thousands of other instances where it never happened.

And this is one of the thousand other cases.
