Competitive Spirit

After deciding to cut down on playing poker my evenings have been spent either reading or playing in online trivia rooms.

It seemed to me that I lost the passion to play. I was fed up of losing to stupid callers and it wasn't fun anymore.

It wasn't just the passion I lost - it was also my competitive spirit. Or so I thought.

I took part in a trivia game last night where the winner was to get a digital camera. I felt gutted when the team I played for finished in last place.

I don't even need a digital camera, I just wanted to win. When I didn't I was dejected.

It's time I took this renewed spirit back to the poker table. I'm in a tournament tomorrow night let's see how it goes.
