WWE Uncensored

There was one pay-per-view event that WCW held in 1995 that was terrible. That's not to say the WCW did great events and this one was a one-off. It's just memorable that the whole thing stunk.

Big time.

I had to buy the video from a tape trader as I had changed from satellite to cable television and was unable to pick up WCW as the German channel I was able to catch the shows on was unavailable on cable.

I paid for this rubbish.

The show in question was WCW Uncensored. The concept of the event was that all the matches would have stipulations. These ranged from a truck match where the winner was the person who managed to honk the horn on a truck that was travelling along the motorway to a falls count anywhere match where a fake concessions stand was where a majority of the action took place.

Would you believe me if I told you that the Nasty Boys and Harlem Heat were hitting and knocking each other down with bags of candy floss? I kid you not.

The reason why I am reminded of this dire event is because the WWE will be hosting their One Night Stand pay-per-view tonight. The concept of this event is exactly what WCW did with Uncensored twelve years ago. All matches will have certain rules that stray away from the norm.

I'm sure the WWE will show the fans how to do a PPV like this properly. It will - without a doubt - be better than what WCW did in 1995.

But then again - WWE couldn't do any worse.

Could they?
