The £60 Million Question

It was the Coca-Cola Championshp play-off final today. Apparently the most important game in English football.

West Bromwich Albion and the eventual winners, Derby County were fighting for a place in the Premier League. Not only were they contending for the promotion, they were also set to make sixty million as a purse.

Sixty million!?

This is such a ridiculous amount of money for a team to win when you consider all they are doing is playing for a bronze medal.Birmingham and Sunderland both qualified automatically. I wonder whether their profits exceeded that of Derby County's.

It just doesn't seem fair that a team wins a bunch of money and a cup for being the third best in the league.

But Greavsie always said it was a funny old game.
