Another Bronze Medal

I came third in another poker tournament last night.

This time I was playing on Blue Square Poker in a $10 multi-table tournament. There were forty-seven participants and the top prize paid out a little over $280.

I commanded an early lead and I more or less stayed afloat for the remainder of the game. After the second break I was on the final table of nine.

The top six entries were in the bubble for the prizepool so the latter stage of the tournament was played cautiously in the hpe of not being in the dreaded three who missed the payout.

When there were three of us left the fun ended.

I was first but then lost a chunk of my chips when I went all-in hoding a pair of tens against the person who was in third place who was holding a ten and a queen.

A queen came out on the flop giving him a higher pair. The odds on hitting another ten on the turn or river card was small as he was holding one of the cards that could have helped me.

From then on in I was short stacked and made an all-in move not so long after in an attempt to double up. The effort was fruitless and I finished in the third spot on the board.

I picked up $85 for the performance.

Not bad. Could be better. Will try harder.
