When I Met Jim

I met Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart once. I have a good memory and remember certain dates very well. The trick is to think of an important date and work backwards and forwards to figure out the exact timing.

For instance - my first holy communion. I remember it was a Sunday and I remember that it was during the World Cup finals in 1986 so it must have been July 1986.

Okay - back to The Anvil. I met him on the Saturday before the world changed. It was September 2001.

The most frequent question asked about this event is 'where were you when it happened?' I was right here in the chatroom I used to admin in which was based on a talkSPORT presenter.

We all tuned in to the radio and had the BBC images on our televisions and watched and listened as everything unfolded before our eyes and ears

I also remember the following day. I went into town to buy a book and every single newspaper had been sold. I have never seen anything like it before.

And hopefully I'll never see anything like it ever again.
