I didn't fare too well in the Canadian Amateur Poker Open this evening.
I managed to last it to the first break and went on half-way towards break two but lost a large amount of chips in two hands and made an all-in move when I was on a straight draw post flop. I was called by someone holding a higher card and the turn and river cards didn't assist me in my straight.
I had fourteen 'outs' which are possible hands that could win for me. The other player had six so his call was ridiculous.
But he still busted me.
I finished up in 110th place out of 171 runners. For some reason when I get beat in these APAT games I feel even more dejected than I do in other games. Maybe it's because I really want a National title and the gold medal. My ego is just too large!
The next game for APAT is two weeks from tonight. It is the French Amateur Open.
I hope my skill (and luck) will work out better then.
