If queens were my problem yesterday then their neighbour in the hand ranking was my failure today.
I was in the $5 six seater multi-table game on Ladbrokes and was playing steadily. I was in the mid to low top range on the leader board that consisted of 266 players.
I was dealt J J (fish hooks) and betted. I had one other person with me in the hand after all the rest folded and he raised. I decided that I was the best hand at that moment and looking at his chip count he had a 2:1 ratio to me so I figured attack was the best form of defence.
I went all in.
He turned over A K unsuited so my preflop assumption that he wasn't beating me was correct. We both didn't hit anything on the first four community cards and then I started worrying over the revelation of what was on the river.
It all seemed to go slowly for me. I sensed an upset. I got one. A king.
I cannot condemn my play. It just seems that stupid calls are always rewarded on Ladbrokes. I'll just have to hope I am the one giving out the bad beats in future.
