Choked

I had built my way up the Ladbrokes Ladders over the last few days. I started on Sunday evening and made it to qualify for the final level yesterday evening.

The plan was to play when I wasn't tired, had enough time on my hands and wasn't feeling ill (I was ill on Sunday night and managed to qualify from the initial level despite making more than three visits to the bathroom!).

I played in a freeroll this evening with the plan that I would play the final level on Ladbrokes this Friday when I have a day off from work.

I did extremely well in the freeroll coming 16th out of 790 players and netting a whopping $3.

I was confident.

So, despite being relatively tired and having a little doubt in my mind telling me I was making a mistake from the get go, I registered for the final level having enough coupons to pay for the $110 entry.

I didn't last long. My flush king high was beat by a full house jacks over nines. It didn't knock me out but my chip stack was in poor form. I then had a king and queen of clubs and took the opporunity and went all-in with them.

I was beat and finished in 9th place.

At least I didn't finish last.
