Close To Vegas

I entered a freeroll tonight on Littlewoods Poker that was in conjunction with Poker Player Magazine. The 300 participants had the opportunity to qualify for a final table qualifier for the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

The structure of the prizepool was as follows; The first ten all got $100 for making the final table and then the overall winner gained entry to a ten seat table in the summer where the winner would have the $15,000 entry fee for the August event as well as expenses.

I was chip leader by the end of the second hour and retained the lead until the final 15 players. I kept folding hands just so I could make the final table and win the $100. But then I hit some great cards and ended up leading by a superior amount..

It came down to a heads-up situation with me and another player and I ended up finishing in second place. I am sitting here speechless right now thinking how close I had got to getting to that WSOP sit and go table. It has never been my intention to go to the big event due to it being a bit of a far push for me to do so. That is why I have set my dreams to qualifying for local events.

But I came close tonight. Not bad for someone who didn't want to go in the first place is it?

Vegas can wait.
