Will There Be Love In California On Sunday Night?

It's Super Bowl week, so - as usual - I have been looking through the plethora of prop and novelty betting opportunities that are available to me.

I've had a few bets already. One doesn't even focus on the game itself.

With Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J Blige and Snoop Dogg being part of this year's half-time show, I had a look over a market in which people can gamble on what the opening song of the mini concert will be while the game is in its interval.

California Love, a song performed by the late Tupac Shakur and his then Death Row Records stablemate - Dr. Dre - is a 3/1 second-favourite.

'That's gotta be it!' was the first thing I thought upon finding the market.

It is an appropriate tune to kick off the show. It allows Dre to come out alone (without 2Pac obviously), perform part of that song and then the other collaborators can filter in to perform the other songs they are associated with.

If that isn't going to convince you, let me show you the opening few lines of California Love. As you do, remind yourself that this year's Super Bowl is being held in Los Angeles, California:

California Love,
California knows how to party,
California knows how to party,
In the city of LA,
In the city of good ol' Watts,
In the city, the city of Compton,
We keep it rockin', we keep it rockin'

Now let me welcome everybody to the Wild Wild West
A state that's untouchable like Eliot Ness

Need I continue?

For what it's worth, the favourite song is 'The Next Episode' at 2/1. I suppose it's favoured because it has Dre and Snoop together on it.
