The big news in British wrestling this week is that ITV has commissioned a one-off special to bring back World of Sport to TV screens.
There will be a taping in Manchester in November. The biggest part of the announcement is that Jim Ross will be the commentator on the project. For those of you who are reading this and don't know about wrestling, Ross is the best commentator of the modern era. Having him on board is a huge deal, if I say so myself.
To be fair - only a madman would disagree with this sentiment.
British wrestling hasn't been on ITV since Greg Dyke decided to scrap it in, from memory, 1987. The domestic pro wrestling industry died over here, but has seen a renaissance of late with some top talent being unearthed.
I'll be watching this show whenever it airs. Hopefully, it'll be the start of something special.
