In yesterday's quarter finals of the World Carbonating Bottle of Soda 2016, we witnessed Highland Fizz and Dr. Pete qualify to the semi-finals that will be posted on August 20th.
In this post, we'll find out the two other teams that will make it into the next round.
Game 11 Elderflower .vs. Passionfruit and Mango
Let's be honest, Elderflower made it this far because it was up against the worst flavour of the lot (Pineapple and Grapefruit Zeros). It now has to face one of the best flavours in the tourney. It's a no-brainer.
Winner: Passionfruit and Mango
Game 12 Pink Grapefruit .vs. Cola and Orange
I like both flavours. A LOT. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I imported the Cola and Orange from Germany and it's unlikely that I'll buy it again. Therefore, it's probably the only time it will make it into this sort of tournament if I ever decide to do something similar again.
And then there's Pink Grapefruit. A flavour I really had no idea I would like before I purchased it. It has become one of my favourites. It could be an overall favourite....
But, I have to side with my current instinct..
Winner: Cola and Orange
I really did think Pink Grapefruit would make it to the finals! What a shocker. Any other flavour and I may have allowed it through.
And that's the semi-finals set for next weekend.
On Saturday, we'll see Highland Fizz go up against Dr. Pete and then - a week from today - the second semi will have today's winners squaring off.
