The Age In The Cage

There's a big mixed martial arts event on tonight. I really want to watch it because it has car crash potential, but it's going to be a busy weekend as it is and I cannot afford to lose sleep over something that might end up being a waste of time.

I am on about the Bellator event that will feature a double main event of Kimbo Slice versus Dada 5000 and then, in a bout that has been twenty-one years in the making, Ken Shamrock will meet Royce Gracie.

The pair first fought each other in 1993 and I believe it was 1995 when they last met.

I think Gracie will win. He has won one of the previous encounters. The second result was a draw.

Despite Gracie and Shamrock having history, it's the other bout on the card that seems to be the grudge match.

Slice and Dada 5000 did the best job making me interested in seeing this. Both are street fighters and both have made names for themselves through viral video clips. Slice is the favourite, but my gut is telling me he won't be victorious here.

I might publish an update in the next few days to write about how my predictions fared. Like I noted, I won't be watching the event live, so I'll be looking for clips online as soon as I wake up in the morning.
