No NFL Monday Night Football Deal Announcement (Yet)

With the new NFL season a little over a week away, fans in the UK  and Ireland are still unsure which channels Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football will air on.

Don't quote me on this, but Sunday Night Football is rumoured to be coming back to Channel 4. It's the Monday Night Football concern that seems to be making NFL fans from this side of the pond anxious.

Last year, MNF - as I will refer to it for the rest of this post - aired on the BBC red button channel after ESPN UK decided to pull NFL programming once their deal had expired in early 2012.

The BBC took up MNF and did an adequate job with it.

It could have been a lot worse.

2009, anybody?

Reminders of 2009, when there was no American football on Monday nights, are possibly playing on British fans' minds right now. All I can offer them is one thought.

Remember how late these negotiations go all the time?

Sure, 2009 was the exception to the rule, However, I'm thinking that this will end up being a worry over nothing and it will end up being broadcast somewhere.

And if things do go the way of 2009, there is another way to watch.

Don't forget about this Super Bowl bet offer that ends before kick off next Thursday.
