Mania = Money

World Wrestling Entertainment sent out a press release on Wednesday breaking the news that WrestleMania XXIX drew $72 million in revenue.

The number accounts for the live attendance, merchandise sales and pay-per-view purchases of the event which took place a month ago.

It has been reported that the event was bought by over one million buyers .This number was not revealed in the press release but has been published in Variety.

This is big news because it means the event was the highest grossing wrestling event in history. You may recall, I wrote something similar about last year's show.

WWE has a bit of a job to try and do better with WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans next spring.
