The Scotch Egg Dilemma

In yesterday's post, I wrote about the torture I put myself through when I decided to abstain from eating meat during Lent of 2012.

There was something I had forgotten to mention and it involves Scotch eggs.

I was craving them all the way through that period. I hadn't eaten them for a long time before the thought had crossed my mind and I genuinely counted down the days until I could eat one.

When Lent was over, I had forgotten all about the craving.

In fact - I didn't remember until a few days ago.

I still haven't eaten a Scotch egg in a long while and - despite craving them as I type this - I don't like them that much.

The ones they sell at the butchers are disgusting. The supermarket versions taste much better,

I just hope they aren't made from horses.
