Never Forget You're Welsh

I am always proud to tell anyone that I am Welsh. I specifically point out that I am from Cardiff, Wales whenever I speak to people foreign to these parts.

As a child I spent a few months in Germany on an American base that as my uncle served in the air force. When I would tell the residents of this base that I was from 'Cardiff' they would reply with the words;

'Is that in England?'

I have heard this question plenty more times over the years with the amount of time I spend online. I have always been proud to tell them I am from Wales and always will be.

But, in saying that, my memories of St. David's Day are not the greatest. I remember those boring Eistedfodds back at school and I absolutely hated the Welsh language lessons.

I cannot speak a word of Welsh yet am proud to be from the country. Some may say I am a hyprocite and to them I have one word;

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
