As mentioned in yesterday's post, I was aware that the trailer for The Running Man was being released later that day. I have since seen it and, well... Yep, that is The Running Man alright.
I'm only going by the over two minutes I've seen of the trailer, but it looks more true to the original novel than the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is.
But, with that said, it's not a hard task because the '87 movie is nothing like the book.
(Don't consider me a hater, though: I LOVE the 1987 Running Man film! It's one of my favourite Arnie movies)
I look forward to seeing the new film. I find it hard to call it a 'remake' or a 'reboot'. I'll just call it what it is. Again. It's a 'new film' based on the 1982 novel written by Richard Bachman (Stephen King's alias). Set in a dystopian future, it's about a person who takes part in a reality TV show where he has to survive on the run with the entire world out to get him.
Its release date is November 7th. Hopefully, it'll be available to stream around the new year.
