That's where the Spreadsheet and Database series currently stands after a continuation of a very rough patch that will not correct itself before season's end.
Last weekend's 0-2 results were losing plays on Under 54.5 in the Bills versus Lions game (the final score was 48-42 to Buffalo) and Over 43 in the fixture between Washington and New Orleans (20-19 to the Commanders).
The season cannot be saved at this point. The series will be a losing one in 2024.
As you can see, I'm taking Seattle as +3 home dogs against the Minnesota Vikings for this weekend's play.
The spreadsheet has the game to end in a tie. In those situations, I like to look at backing the dog. In this case, it's the Seahawks in the role of +3 home dog.
As for the database - well, it likes the play. Kind of.
The database does not have a record of the Seahawks competing against the Vikings as home dogs. However, Seattle have a 7-1 straight up record when playing host to Minnesota.
Of those eight games, with Seattle as the home side, the Seahawks are 6-2 against the spread.
To open up the results to all games between the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks, the latter are an unappealing 1-2 as dogs (obviously as road dogs) but they are 10-4 straight up (8-6).
Another point which might work in favour of the Seahawks is the fact that the Minnesota Vikings are coming off Monday Night Football.
