I woke up in time to catch the entire Katie Taylor .vs. Amanda Serrano fight. Taylor controversially won it by a unanimous decision despite the commentators and unofficial scorecard siding with Serrano. Taylor headbutted her opponent at least four times.Dirty.
The into video package for Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has now begun.
I have a surreal feeling as I watch this video. I am watching Tyson fight in a proper boxing match again. If you can call this ‘proper’. Hard to believe.
They’ve just said the fight will start in thirty minutes. Looks like I have some time to run downstairs to get myself a drink of lemonade.
The ring walks are about to begin now.
Hard to call it a ‘ring walk’ with Jake Paul coming in on a back of a car. Tyson up next.
Iron Mike coming out with his iconic black sleeveless top. Old times!
Now intros then the flight.
Round 1: That was a weird round. Could give it to either guy.
Round 2: Another close round. A lot of defence at play in this early stage.
Round 3: That was definitely Jake Paul’s round.
Round 4: I’d give that one to Paul. Tyson is looking tired.
Round 5: Another round for Paul. My Netflix stream is messing up. Have lost sound. I’d consider that a plus, to be fair. Mauro Ranallo is peak obnoxious tonight. As usual.
Round 6: More buffering and still no sound. Hard to call it from what I was able to see.
Round 7: Jake Paul gets that round. My sound is back. Still getting slight buffering. WWE Raw is coming to Netflix from January. Gawd, I can picture the buffering complaints a mile off.
Round 8: I missed most of this round from buffering. When it came back, the fight was in its dying moments and Paul was bowing as a show of respect to his opponent. That’s not ‘touching’. That’s BS. This is meant to be a fight. That sort of thing should be done after it.
Result: Jake Paul won. He went the distance with a fifty-eight year old. Let that be the narrative. It won’t be, though.
Back to bed for me.
And as I was about to switch this crap off, Tyson and Logan Paul teased a fight between each other. No thanks.
Jake Paul bragging that they broke Netflix isn’t the brag he thinks it is.
