It seems I cannot escape the news about Jermaine Jenas, which broke early yesterday evening.
The former footballer has been sacked by the BBC following allegations about his conduct to female colleagues.
Nearly every single story on the news website I visit regularly has something to do with Jenas.
I don't know enough about the story to comment. However, an investigation has been carried out by the Beeb and the result has seen Jenas' contract terminated.
Jenas was one of my favourite players when he was at Newcastle. I always think of Bobby Robson when I see Jenas because they both shared 18th February as a birthday. Robson mentioned it in interviews many times and even had a line about it in his autobiography.
For the past few years, I believed Jenas had been doing an amazing job with his media work. It sure felt like he was being groomed to be Gary Lineker's successor as the lead host of the major tournaments and the number one guy on Match of the Day.
It's a shame, but actions have consequences.
