10,000

When I came into the living room this morning, Good Morning Britain was on and they were discussing the fact that tonight will see ITV air Emmerdale's 10,000 episode.

That's an amazing number.

I haven't watched the soap opera in many years. But, there was a time in my life, when I preferred it over all other British soaps.

While everyone else is celebrating the 10,000 episodes, I shall spare a thought for all 203 characters that have died since the programme started in 1972.
