To be fair, you cannot tell the story of Neighbours' rise, and downfall, without mentioning the characters of Scott and Charlene Robinson.
Their wedding is one of the most iconic moments in the show's history. In fact, I'd go so far as to state that - if you were to poll one hundred people and ask them about their Neighbours memories - the wedding would win hands down.
Neighbours launched Kylie into becoming the global star that she is today. It's only fitting that she was part of the celebration, if you can call it that, now that its on its final march.
I doubt the characters will be back for a full-on return, however. My guess is it'll just be a brief stop. Still, it should be enough to appeal to the lapsed fans.
With that said - if only Scott and Charlene had done this return sooner, right?
The return of Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue is one of many surprises set to take place over the coming months.
Peter O'Brien, who played Charlene's cousin (I'm going by memory here, so I might be wrong on how they're related, but they are in the same family!) - Shane Ramsay - is coming back. He was last in it during the 1980's.
One of the most famous characters - Harold Bishop - is also on his way back. Ian Smith, who is now in his eighties, is already on set filming scenes according to the reports I read weeks ago.
