I watched a little bit of the Olympics this morning. It was of a sport I had never seen before.
Going by the few minutes I watched - sport climbing sees people compete on an artificial rock face. They have to climb up as fast as they can and then hit a red button once they've reached the top.
To be fair, I was amazed at the speed of the athletes who participated in today's event.
As I stated at the beginning - it's a sport I had never seen before. I didn't even know it existed until this morning. That's part of the fun of watching the Olympic Games.
What isn't fun is dedicating some time to following the new sport only for the BBC to jump to something else.
That's what happened today. And it's a common occurrence with the Beeb's coverage. They give attention to little-known sport, yet yank it away almost as soon as people become invested.
