A Good Loss

Even with a loss, I was happy with Wales' performance against Italy in their final group game of Euro 2020.

The team lost the game 1-0. A good portion of it was played with ten men following Ethan Ampadu's sending off early in the second-half.

Keeping Italy from scoring more than one goal helped Wales in the long run. It left them in second place in the group. This left them tied with Switzerland on points. However, goal difference came into play moving the Swiss into third in the group.

Turkey's only goal in the tournament, in their 3-1 loss to Switzerland yesterday, was one of the factors that helped Wales finish second.

Wales' next game will be played at 5PM on Saturday in Amsterdam. We won't know for sure who they'll face until later on today, but it'll be the runner up of Group B.

With Belgium highly likely to top the group, it looks like it will be Russia, Finland or Denmark.
