The Skywalker Set

We're a fortnight removed from Star Wars Day, but I thought I'd dedicate today's post to show you something I bought last week.

Star Wars: Skywalker Saga Boxset

It's a box-set of the entire Skywalker Saga in Ultra HD and Blu-ray.

I knew the films were being brought out in DVD, Blu-ray and UHD sets leading up to the release of the ninth movie in April and had my eyes set on the UHD edition because it looked amazing. However, despite having saved up enough Amazon gift vouchers to fund it, I still thought £199.99 was a tad too much when it came down to making a final decision.

Plan B was to wait until the price dropped below the near £200 and then buy it. I was going to accept anything under that price.

And so the wait began.

As funny as this sounds, I had a dream that I bought the set on Amazon one night. Once I remembered the dream the following morning, I checked Amazon to see if there was a price change and there was. It had fallen to £180.

It was time to buy.

The package arrived the following day.

As I already mentioned - the set includes all nine movies in the Skywalker Saga. These are in both UHD and regular Blu-ray. On top of that are bonus discs that brings the entire number of discs to twenty-seven.

Below are some pictures of the set. I should warn you though, the box is so long that it was quite difficult to take decent pics of.

What you first need to do is pull aside the box featuring an image of the Death Star and there is a book waiting inside. This book contains all of the discs.

You can see below that there is a ribbon to pull that will release the book from its box.

Before I get to showing you an example of some of the pages, there is a letter from Luke Skywalker himself - Mark Hamill.

Now, onto the book itself.

Here are the pages for the most recent movie - The Rise of Skywalker. As you might be able to see, there's a photograph of Rey fighting Ben Solo. You can see the two discs for that movie popping out.

All of the movies have pages like that. For another example, here's the one for Revenge of the Sith:

Once all the pages for the movies are complete, there are pages for the bonus discs. Here's an example of the pages for the bonus discs of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

It is such a nice thing to own. The presentation of it is magnificent and that's even before I've even sat down to watch all of the content.
